First positive - accounts training proved a success. I have a good student and already have a few weeks of church accounts on the system. Made a start on the Mount Rungwe Plumbing Business accounts also. This is a picture from last year and the only thing that seems different is the increased stock levels of parts. They are wanting to diversify into industrial plumbing products (Bigger and more expensive than domestic)
This was photographed so that you can't see the numbers!! its difficult to get used to a currency where millions of Tanzanian Shillings are mentioned without a thought. TS1M = £408
In the training we are using specially developed spreadsheets both for The Church and Mount Rungwe.
By the end of the training Riziki was well into both sets of accounts. We have set up a process whereby he will add the transactions and for a time I will turn these into accounts. Later on, I am confident he will be able to do everything himself.
Second - Don and I did inrteractive seminars with 12 church planters "attached" to Bethel - Only small plants but all over southern Tanzania. We both spoke about different aspects of church leadership. Much of our later discussions have been about how we can support this church Planting initiative. These men have a huge need for rental deposits on accommodation and a meeting room and to gain employment to support themselves.
Third - Margaret had a fine time with the Church ladies talking about OpTan. They call her Mama Tanzania. Ask Margaret when you see her what it is like being a housewife in Tanzania
Some of the team!
Fourth - visited several people in their homes, encouraging and praying for them.
